3D data modeling matching 1920's camera views made reconstruction possible.

Abandoned in the 1980’s this building lay unused for 35 years caught in an ownership dispute. By 2016 only flat cast iron pieces remained with a little tin cladding. Based on a 1920’s photo the tin façade was modeled with dimensionally accurate 3D software which we also used for construction. There was unfortunately no possibility of saving the old façade. Once our model matched the historical photo, we found off-the-shelf PVC products for the skin and designed the inner steel frame to match the new outer contours. Wood windows were re-built from dimensions of remnant old pieces and photos. The building today looks as it is believed to have looked in the 1890’s.
